With over 25 years in education, Malaka Donovan has navigated all grade levels from preschool to high school through the lens of innovative and project-based methodologies. As a seasoned teacher, curriculum and instructional coach, and high school administrator, she has a passion for creating meaningful learning experiences. Additionally, she has worked with teams to earn local recognition, achieve charter school renewals, gain organizational accreditations, and be awarded national grants.
Throughout her educational career, she has been fortunate to work closely with resilient young individuals, providing support, mentorship, and educational opportunities to help them overcome obstacles and realize their abilities and potential. While working with social-emotional experts she has integrated empathy, self-regulation, and social awareness skills into learning processes, creating nurturing and inclusive environments that support personal growth. Malaka is truly inspired by Wolf Connection’s dedication to innovative approaches and its emphasis on connecting nature/wolf to the human spirit. She is particularly drawn to Wolf Connection’s holistic approach, which encourages healing through education, mentorship, and connection. Some of her favorite parts of life include long road trips with her family and enjoying simple Sundays watching football. In between those spaces, she continues to explore garden-to-table recipes from her family’s hobby farm.
