Koda was originally part of a roadside attraction in Alaska, where visitors paid to throw treats to wolfdogs while they lived chained to poles, unable to interact with one another. Thanks to the efforts of the Bob Barker Foundation, the facility was shut down, and all the animals were rescued.
Koda arrived at Wolf Connection with his big brother Chance and initially followed his lead. As Chance’s health declined due to cancer, Koda began to show leadership qualities but later reverted to his role as the submissive younger brother to maintain harmony. After Chance passed away, Koda struggled with uncertainty and displayed some puppy-like traits. With the support of the pack nannies, he gradually grew into his own. Living with other packmates further helped him develop into the social and confident wolf he is today.
