I can’t find your address on your website. Where are you located?
*We are located in Acton, CA approximately 45 minutes north of Los Angeles. Once you register for an event, our address and all other needed information will be emailed to you. We don’t put our address on our site for the protection of the pack and the sanctuary.
Where can I find a list of your upcoming events?
*All upcoming events are listed on our events page.
I registered for an event online but didn’t receive an email back with your address and other information I need. What should I do?
*Before calling or emailing us, first check your junk mail or spam. If it is not in one of those locations, there is a possibility that your transaction was accidentally aborted. Check your email for a receipt or call your bank or credit card company to see if they registered the transaction. After following these steps, please email us and we will look in to the situation on our end.
I have a last minute question or am lost on my way to an event but can’t seem to reach anyone. What should I do?
*We are located in a very remote area and often out of range of cell service. We recommend that you reach out to us via phone before you embark on your trip (661) 434-7992 or email us with your question and your phone number. We will respond as quickly as possible.
What should I wear?
*At all times of the year you should wear: pants to protect your legs from twigs & shrubs, hiking boots or sturdy shoes for hiking, a light shirt along with some extra layers in case it gets cold towards the end of the day, and a hat to protect your face from the desert sun.
What should I bring?
*Please bring sunscreen, a refillable water bottle and your camera to capture all the memorable moments!
Why is it so important that I sign my liability form prior to attending the event?
*Signing the liability form online prior to the event helps us to expedite the entry process and prevent unnecessary delays. Since all guests arrive at the same time, an efficient check in process ensures that everyone is able to participate in the tour and enjoy the day. Signing the liability agreement ahead of time also gives you a chance to read over the details in your own time, without rush, so that you understand what you are signing and why.
What if it is raining? Is the hike still on?
*Yes! Unless you receive an email from us indicating otherwise, please assume the hike is still on. Due to our location, the weather at the ranch is not always the same as it is in the rest of Acton and if it does begin to rain during the event, we have covered areas to provide shelter. If there is a chance of rain, please dress accordingly.
Are kids allowed?
*Yes, but due to the nature of the public hike and for the safety of our animals and guests, children must be 7yrs or older to attend. If you are interested in bringing children under the age of 7, we would be happy to accommodate them on a private visit. Contact us at events@wolfconnection.org for more info. Further, Wolf Connection requires one supervising parent or guardian adult per two minors. Non parental supervising adults must be over the age of 25. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for your children while on Wolf Connection property. If, for any reason, we feel that your child’s behavior is in any way endangering themselves, the animals or other guests, you may be asked to leave the event. If your children are under 4ft tall, you may be asked for proof of age.
Can I bring my dog?
*No! You will be hiking with a pack of wolves and we don’t want to cause confusion in the pack with a new canine present or put your dog in a potentially dangerous situation.
How long and strenuous is the hike?
*The hike is just under 1.5 miles and is beginning/intermediate level. Depending on the size and pace of the group, it can take 50-75 minutes. Much of the hike is relatively flat with a few hills. There are breaks along the hike for rest, pictures and bonding and you may return to the sanctuary with a guide at any time.
Is the Wolf Connection Ranch handicap accessible?
*Please call our information line at 661-450-8191 or email us to discuss your specific needs prior to registering for the event. The Wolf Connection Ranch is wheelchair accessible and will accommodate all needs; however, the Wolf Connection Team needs to be made aware beforehand of such needs so that we may provide appropriate manpower to our highly attended events. The terrain of the Wolf Connection Ranch compound is relatively flat, consisting of compacted dirt trails with bumps, divots and holes caused by the elements. See “How Long and Strenuous Is the Hike” for details about Wolf Connection Ranch hiking trails.
Can I carry my baby on the hike?
*No. Children too young to walk must be transported in an appropriate baby carrier. You will experience different kinds of terrain where you will need balance.
Do you provide group discounts?
*Please see our Visit Us page for group visit options and details.
The registration page says the hike is now closed. I really wanted to attend but didn’t have the chance to sign up. Can you make an exception?
*Unfortunately, no. Our hikes are capped at a certain number to ensure that all guests are able to enjoy their experience and have time to meet the wolves. Once our maximum has been reached, registration will close and we are unable to make exceptions. Check out our Airbnb page for weekly semi-private hike options, keep an eye out for our next community hike on Facebook and be sure to sign up early!
Do I need to be a member of the Wolf Connection website to sign up for an event?
*No. Wolf Connection events are open to everyone. Click HERE for Wolf Connection’s list of events.
I want to visit the sanctuary but can’t come to any of the scheduled community or semi-private hikes. Are there other opportunities to visit?
*Yes! Please visit our Visit Us page for details of our other visiting opportunities like sponsorship visits or private visits!
