Rezzy's Story

Rezzy joined Wolf Connection at the remarkable age of 18, coming to us from a couple facing difficult circumstances. The woman was entering hospice care, and her partner was devoted to her needs, prompting them to find a new home for Rezzy. When they reached out to us, they conveyed their concerns with the words, “She’s very old. She won’t be much trouble. She probably won’t be around that long,” hoping to make a case for her adoption based on her advanced age. However, we were not deterred by these concerns; we saw the potential in Rezzy to defy expectations.

And defy them she did! With a spirit that belied her years, Rezzy quickly earned the affectionate nickname “The Bulldozer.” She had an exuberant way of greeting her handlers, using all her strength to run right into them, reveling in full-contact affection. Her playful and robust nature brought joy to everyone at Wolf Connection, proving that age is just a number when it comes to vitality and spirit.

Rezzy became our golden girl, defying the odds by living to the extraordinary age of 21, making her the oldest wolf we have had in our care. Her legacy is one of resilience, love, and the unyielding joy she brought to her community. She serves as a testament to the power of companionship and the deep connections that can flourish regardless of age. Rezzy’s journey reminds us all that every moment is precious and that the spirit of a wolf can shine brightly at any stage of life.
