Answering the Call
Volunteer Program
Wolf Connection volunteers commit deeply; understanding the power of the pack is stronger than any one of us individually. There is much to be done seven days a week to further our global mission, and to serve the wolves and program participants at our beautiful 165-acre sanctuary. No fluorescent lighting or tight work spaces here!
Volunteers learn together, work hard together, and definitely have fun together. The team shares joys and sorrows while helping create the best lives for humanity’s greatest teachers, the wolves. Their dedication, generosity, and love of the wolf and human pack and our mission helps shape what we do and who we are. You too can volunteer to support our nonprofit organization that empowers all beings to believe in their worthiness and their inner capacity for personal growth.
Additionally, Our Volunteers Enjoy:
- Communing with nature
- Working with the land and their hands
- Caring for the wolves
- Collaborating with other people
- Assisting with events and other Wolf Connection programs
Requirements:
- Because of the sensitivity of the pack and the importance of building relationships over time, Core Volunteers commit to spend at least 12 consistent hours per month (3 days a month @ 4 hours minimum each session) for a minimum of one year, assisting with pack care and land maintenance.
- After a two month period, Core Volunteers may be considered to train for Kennel Crew, which has direct contact with the animals.
- We are selective in volunteer recruitment as the nature of this work is very special. Working with wolves requires grit, heart, and curiosity. You must be at least 23 years old (applicants 18-22 considered on a case by case basis).
- Volunteering duties can sometimes extend to our Facilities Operations (land management, repairs and maintenance), Development Department (Events), and even occasionally our Programs Department, if interest and need are present.
Next steps:
- After completing the volunteer application, we will reach out to schedule an introductory phone call based upon fit and current need. Following that, applicants may be invited to schedule their first training day and receive orientation materials. If you have any further questions that are not answered above, Email volunteers@wolfconnection.org with questions.
