Jane Ross

Jane is currently a Managing Director in Investment Banking at Oppenheimer and Co.  In addition to her financial industry responsibilities, she moderates podcasts entitled Let’s Talk Future about trends in technology, disruptive industries, sustainability, and timely investment themes.  From Oct 2007 until March 2018, Jane was the Managing Director and Head of High Yield Sales at Oppenheimer.  She built the high-yield sales and trading team commencing in late 2007 which went on to record performance during the financial crisis of 2008 and 2009, a time of unprecedented economic upheaval.  Before Oppenheimer, Jane was a founding participant in a high-yield investment bank called Argosy Securities which was ultimately sold to CIBC World Markets.  Earlier, she was an Executive Director at Bear Stearns.  Jane earned her MBA at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and her BA from Stanford University.
 Jane has enjoyed many positions as a volunteer.  She worked for 4 years as a swimming instructor for developmentally disabled kids at South East Consortium.  She served as Treasurer and Board Member of SKIP of NY, a 501c3 helping medically vulnerable children and their families.  Jane also served as Treasurer and Board Member of Baby Buggy (now Good+Foundation) which provides critical gear and services to families in need.  Ms. Ross is married to Jon Schriber, an Emmy-award-winning journalist who spent the bulk of his career as a senior producer in network news at ABC and NBC Peacock Productions creating programming and long-form documentaries.  His award-winning work includes stories about the world’s oceans and the environmental and human impacts of floods in Africa.  They have 2 wonderful daughters, a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology and a Design Producer at Disney.
Jane‘s life has been enriched with extensive wildlife-based travel adventures from multiple trips to Africa and Belize, scouting wolves in Glacier, kayaking with killer whales in the San Juans, observing polar bears in Churchill Manitoba, and exploring Patagonia.  She has assisted in equine therapy at South East Consortium and has experienced first-hand the benefits that working with animals can bring.  Finally, a core inspiration for Jane is her brother Peter, who is mentally challenged and has informed her heart and love and respect for those having to navigate the world with a unique set of blessings and challenges.
