Visiting Wolf Connection can be an incredible experience! It’s important to prioritize safety and adhere to guidelines to ensure both your safety and the well-being of the wolves. Here are some professional safety precautions and recommendations for what to wear:

Safety Precautions for Visiting:

1. Follow Sanctuary Guidelines:
*Always adhere to the rules and guidelines provided by the sanctuary. These are designed to protect both you and the wolves.

2. Stay Within Designated Areas:
*Stay within designated visitor areas and do not approach or attempt to interact with the wolves unless accompanied by a staff member.

3. Supervision:
* Ensure that children are supervised at all times. No children under 10 years of age are allowed at public events.

4. Keep a Safe Distance:
* Maintain a safe distance from the wolves as instructed by the sanctuary staff. Do not lean over fences or barriers. Do not enter habitats unless instructed by a staff member.

5. No Flash Photography:
* Avoid using flash photography as it can startle or distress the animals. Check with staff about Wolf Connection’s photography policies.

What to Wear for a Wolf Sanctuary Visit:

1. Comfortable Clothing:
* Dress in comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, including long pants and long sleeves, to safeguard against potential scratches and insect bites. Given the unpredictable weather conditions typical of the High Desert, be prepared for sudden changes in temperature and conditions.

2. Sturdy Footwear:
* Choose sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots. This will provide protection and support, especially as you’ll be walking on uneven or rough terrain. Keep in mind the conditions can be rustic and shoes can get dirty.

3. Weather-Appropriate Gear:
* Dress according to the weather conditions. In cold weather, wear layers and a warm jacket. In warm weather, wear lightweight, breathable fabrics and a hat for sun protection.

4. Avoid:
* No Fur – Real or faux.
* Avoid wearing dangling jewelry, loose ties, or any other items.
* No open toe shoes.
* No gloves.

5. Personal Items:
* Carry a small, secure bag for personal items.
* Refillable water bottle.
* Sunscreen.
