In the first 8 months of his life, Mazi moved between several homes, including living in the back of a car, and never had a stable home base. His name, which means “to be brave” in Blackfoot, reflects his resilience.

Program participants observed his arrival and noted that he seemed to grow in stature and strength as he quickly settled in. Currently, Mazi can still be timid and relies on the support of his packmate, Nali, as he continues to find his confidence.
